This article will compare the actual gaming performance of the GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 5060 to verify whether these rumors are true — the exciting moment has arrived.

Specifications Comparison

The GeForce RTX 4060 was released on June 29, 2023, using the AD107 GPU based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, manufactured with TSMC’s 5nm process. It features 3,072 CUDA cores, 96 texture units, 32 raster units, 24 streaming multiprocessors, 96 tensor cores, 24 ray tracing cores, and 24MB of L2 cache.

Its base clock is 1830 MHz, with a boost clock of 2460 MHz. It comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory at 17 Gbps, a 128-bit memory bus, and a memory bandwidth of 272.0 GB/s. Its FP32 performance is 15.11 TFLOPS, power consumption is 115W, and the suggested retail price is $299.

The GeForce RTX 5060 was released on May 19, 2023, using the GB206 GPU based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, manufactured with TSMC’s 4nm process. Difference: 5060 leads by 30 FPS (≈39%), min FPS +26, frame time ~4ms lower. Power up 30W. Other stats roughly equal.


Game 2: Cyberpunk 2077

Comparison Conclusion

Overall, compared to the previous generation GeForce RTX 4060, the GeForce RTX 5060 shows a clear and substantial performance advantage throughout the entire test, with a noticeably higher lead. While overall power consumption is slightly higher, temperatures remain essentially the same.

Based on the data, the overall performance of the GeForce RTX 5060 is approximately 23% higher than that of the GeForce RTX 4060. In other words, the rumor that “the GeForce RTX 5060’s performance improvement exceeds 20%” is true — it seems this time NVIDIA truly delivered.
