New Asetek Cooling Plate with AI Optimization

Nowadays, when “artificial intelligence” is mentioned, most people immediately think of beauty enhancement and various generative AI applications, such as ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, Baidu’s Wenxin Yiyan, Tongyi, and Doubao, among others.

However, these are just the tip of the iceberg, a mere drizzle of AI applications. The uses of artificial intelligence can be aptly described as “only limited by imagination.” Beyond these, AI has many other more significant applications, such as accelerating the development of new products, including new drugs, materials, and products.

The principle is straightforward: this kind of development often requires finding the optimal solution from countless combinations, and AI can accelerate the verification and screening process, thereby significantly reducing development costs and time.

Recently, the well-known cooler manufacturer Asetek announced a collaboration with 3D metal printing manufacturer Fabric8Labs to launch a heat sink designed with “AI optimization.” This heat sink uses electrochemical additive manufacturing, claiming to significantly improve the heat sink’s cooling efficiency, scalability, and recyclability.

Besides AI optimization, electrochemical additive manufacturing technology is also critical. This is a manufacturing technology for 3D metal printing at room temperature. The process uses a water-based material containing dissolved metal ions, allowing the ECAM 3D printer to quickly construct metal structures while enhancing product quality.

The biggest advantage of this approach is that it allows 3D printers to print more complex high-resolution structures, improving cooling capacity by enhancing fluid dynamics.

However, the product is currently in a “preheating” phase, with Asetek only releasing some promotional posters and not yet showing any actual test results or comparisons. The company claims it will soon demonstrate these, so the public won’t have to wait long. Whether this product is just leveraging the AI hype or is truly a significant technological breakthrough will soon become clear.

Asetek’s promotion looks promising, and if the actual performance is significantly better than regular competing products, many high-end users will be very interested. The editor will share the latest updates and revelations about this product as soon as possible, so stay tuned.
