According to foreign media reports, with the announcement that the world’s three major DRAM manufacturers, including Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, will stop producing DDR4, Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics have seen significant gains.

There are already rumors in the market that the supply of low-cost products is sharply reduced, and some memory chip prices have seen slight rebounds, causing memory-related stocks to surge in a first wave.

Now, with further reports that the three major manufacturers will cease DDR4 production, Taiwanese suppliers Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics, which are expected to fill the market gap, have benefited.

Omdia forecasts that the decline in DRAM prices will continue until the second half of 2025. Prices for PC, server, and mobile DRAM are expected to continue falling into the third quarter, with a 10% drop in the first half and a 5% drop in the second half. Prices for both DDR4 and DDR5 products are also showing a downward trend.

Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron may stop production of DDR3 and DDR4 by 2025, with a supply shortage possibly starting after the summer, leading to orders shifting to Taiwanese memory manufacturers.
