On May 15, 2024, it was announced that Google officially launched the “AI Overviews” search experience at the 2024 I/O Developer Conference held yesterday. It will be available in the United States starting this week and will later expand to more countries and regions.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai attended the event and stated, “I am pleased to announce that we will be rolling out this comprehensive new experience, AI Overviews, to everyone in the U.S. this week. We will soon bring it to more countries.”
Editor’s note: Previously known as Search Generative Experiences, this feature allows users to conduct AI searches through questions and chats. In the U.S., Google primarily collaborates with the Reddit community to answer user queries.
Google announced on Tuesday that it will provide AI-generated answers to online queries for U.S. users, marking one of the biggest updates to its search engine in 25 years.
