2025 Forecast AI Chips Lead HBM Sales to Record Highs

HBM products are considered one of the pillars of artificial intelligence (AI) computing, and the industry has developed rapidly in the past two years. Under the influence of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, the HBM market has brought new hope to memory manufacturers to drive significant revenue growth.

According to Wccftech reports, the demand for high bandwidth memory has surged in recent years, especially with the advent of the artificial intelligence boom, making this trend more apparent. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are the three giants of the HBM market, and they are all developing new products, especially next-generation technologies like HBM4, which have received great attention in the industry and are expected to dominate in the future.

Market research reports show that by 2025, the HBM market will reach as high as 4.976 billion US dollars, which is almost double the growth compared to the data of 2023. This forecast figure is entirely based on current and anticipated industry demands, as the key area where HBM sells the most is its application in AI GPUs. As reported many times in the past, the sudden increase in demand for AI GPUs has caused a shortage of HBM in the market, and HBM is a major component of AI accelerators.

However, manufacturers are optimistic about the future of HBM, and the industry is moving towards newer standards. New products like HBM3e and HBM4 will be widely adopted by manufacturers. For example, NVIDIA has made many plans for its data center products in 2024, including the already-released H200 and the upcoming B100 based on the Blackwell architecture, both of which will use HBM3e.

With the booming development of the artificial intelligence market, memory manufacturers also see signs of recovery and there may be more opportunities to drive revenue growth.
