So, how big is the performance gap between the GeForce RTX 5080 and the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti? Which one is more worth getting? Recently, third-party 3DMark benchmark comparisons for these two cards have been released, providing an initial answer to this question.

Based on these scores, the GeForce RTX 5080 offers roughly 17% better performance than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. Overall, in all 3DMark benchmark tests, the GeForce RTX 5080 is 11% to 25% faster than the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, with the performance gap not being too high or too low—still, the GeForce RTX 5080 is indeed a higher-tier performer.
So, in this case, which one is more worth purchasing: the GeForce RTX 5080 or the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti? The answer is the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.
The reason is that the suggested retail price of the GeForce RTX 5080 is $999, while the suggested retail price of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is $749. Despite a performance gap of about 17%, the price difference is 33%, making the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti clearly the better value for money.
Of course, this assumes you can buy them at the original price. The RTX 50 series cards are currently heavily overpriced, and getting them at retail price is almost impossible, so the conclusions in this article are for reference only.
