CES 2025: Raspberry Pi 5 16GB Version Coming Soon

On January 6, it was reported that the Raspberry Pi 5, which has been highly praised for its powerful performance since its release over a year ago, is rumored to soon launch a 16GB memory version.

According to NotebookCheck, the Raspberry Pi 5 will introduce a 16GB memory version. Sources revealed that some of the Raspberry Pi 5 circuit boards that have already been produced and shipped are labeled with “16GB,” but this does not necessarily mean these boards actually have 16GB of memory installed. Upon closer inspection of the current Raspberry Pi 5 circuit boards, a small list of different memory capacities can be seen, each marked by model. If the Raspberry Pi Foundation indeed adds a 16GB option to this list, the launch of the 16GB version seems almost certain.

Sources also mentioned that official confirmation will not be far off, as the company is expected to announce the 16GB version of the Raspberry Pi 5 on January 8, 2025, during the CES 2025 event. It is noteworthy that, based on the typical release pattern for previous Raspberry Pi products, the company usually starts selling the product immediately upon announcement. Therefore, if the event really takes place on January 8, users may very well be able to purchase the new product on the same day.
