Omdia, a technology consulting firm, has revealed the largest buyer of Nvidia’s AI chips.

It was disclosed that Microsoft has purchased 485,000 Nvidia “Hopper” architecture chips this year.

In comparison, its competitor Meta has bought 224,000 Nvidia “Hopper” architecture chips.

Amazon and Google have purchased 196,000 and 169,000 Hopper chips, respectively.

Nvidia’s AI chips can significantly accelerate the training process of AI models, enabling Microsoft to launch new AI products and services more quickly.

At the “Microsoft Ignite 2024” global developer conference, Microsoft has already updated several AI products, such as AI assistant tools and the Azure AI Foundry platform.

In addition, Nvidia’s AI chips also support Microsoft’s efforts in strengthening AI research and innovation.

Microsoft has invested $13 billion in OpenAI, and the purchased AI chips have contributed to breakthroughs in large language models like ChatGPT.
