2025Q2 NAND Storage Price Increase: What U Need to Know

The NAND storage market in the first quarter remains at a low point, but supply chain sources indicate that major NAND storage manufacturers like Micron are actively pushing for a price rebound strategy in the second quarter.

After inventory adjustments, the demand for high-end NAND storage and large-capacity storage has resurfaced due to strong expectations for AI servers.

Additionally, the Chinese government’s incentive measures for consumer purchases will accelerate the normalization of inventory depletion.

Furthermore, with major cloud service providers significantly increasing their capital expenditures for 2025, strong HBM order demand will support the outlook for NAND storage giants.

After the emergence of DeepSeek, although it has brought some noise to high-end NAND storage demand, its inference effectiveness still needs to be evaluated through large language model (LLM) training and optimization.

With hardware specifications relying on high-performance AI chips, the growing scale and complexity of AI models will not impact the large data centers’ increased investments in AI.

Recently, Samsung Electronics stated that it would offer improved HBM3E products to some customers by the end of the first quarter of 2025, with supply volumes set to increase significantly starting in the second quarter.

Micron also revealed that it will continue to increase HBM mass production starting from December 2024.

Both AI data centers and consumer demand are showing signs of recovery, and DRAM and NAND will each be influenced by two major factors to drive price reversals upward.
